It's Australia Day

Richard Glover is one of my favourite columnists. Today he writes about how to tell if you're a true local. I couldn't mark Australia Day any better than he has.
I spent a good part of the day at the local swimming pool with the kids, mentioned to one of my friends that it wasn't a terribly Australian thing to do (compared to large public Australia Day events) Being a Kiwi she told me that it seemed to her to be particularly Aussie and thinking about it I agree. There, nationalistic spirit intact and proven.
