thanks #21 & 22

#21 This table is admittedly disastrous but it is the centre of our family life and the mess represents lots of good stuff: the placemats are my attempt to keep a semblance of civility, there is evidence of the kid's latest artworks and craft projects, homework & school notes, as well as a breakfast of pancakes made by the girls.
You can also see the remains of #22, a Saturday ritual which consists of my Mum & Dad coming over, they bring a cake (orange this time), we have coffee, set the world to rights, discuss politics, news, religion, family and who knows what else.......

btw: don't forget the big competition in my previous post

  1. A most beautiful photo. I don't care about the mess. To me, it's happiness. The fact you would post it speaks volumes. It's why I love you so. You're kids are gorgeous. I know I always say that, but just in case you forgot, your kids are gorgeous!!! And the fact you dress them alike, well that's just freakin' priceless!!!

I know it's early for you and late for me. Honey, have a nice hot cup of tea for an English gal? Oh, and that cakes looks good too. Slides onto chair and finds a placemat. Brushes off crumbs.

  2. Oh, and honey, just so you know, I think all the stuff in the white pastic containers should be refrigerated. In fact, right on the bottle I think it says "Refrigerate after opening." Please don't make me come to Aussie Land. Airfare isn't cheap.

    Hi honey!!!

the white plastic containers are salt and pepper but the maple syrup probably should go in the fridge, go do that would you?

i dont dress the girls alike unless they choose alike, which they sometimes do and sometimes dont....those were new dresses, put on in the car as i packed groceries!

    cheers!

  7. This is fantastic! I LOVE a peek into your family life! It's absolutely magic. I know just from looking at this photo that our families would have a wonderful time if ever we met up in "real" life. And can I have a piece of that delicious-looking orange cake as well?

    Hi Suzy!

  9. Hi honey! God this post and comment page is funny!!!!!

    Hi Leah!
    Hi Cece!
    Hi Kylie!
    Hi Girls!

Hummmmmmmmmm, almost 10 pm CA is 10 pm Aussie time? Girls, is that true? Is Mommy pulling Aunt Suzy's leg? Mommy, are you pulling Aunt Suzy's leg?

Okay, so salt and pepper. Wow, those are really big containers of salt and pepper! Who knew? And no, I'm not sure maple syrup has to be refrigerated. Let's ask our mountain girl. "Leah, does maple syrup have to be regrigerated? (Or refrigerated? (Good LORD!!!)"

Girls, I'm not so sure you should be dressing in the car. I think in most countries that's completely illegal. One day you're going to own a car and you'll have to ask youself "Do I want to look pretty or do I want to get to market before it closes, or before the line's too long?" Trust me, you'll want to get to the market, unless you can afford a housekeeper and she does all the marketing. I'm just trying to teach you about practicality. Dress in your room in the morning. That usually does the trick. (Aunt Suzy can't stop laughing.)

*Makes cup of green tea and eats what a greedy New Yorker left of the beautiful cake. Shakes out placemats. Makes another cup of tea. Looks around and remarks "I like it here!!! Cece, Leah, who's making dinner?"* "Oh and where the hell's my prize???!

    ZO

    XO

  11. Psalm 23:5

to help those who live East of the International Date line this is found in the Holy Bible's Auld Testament. Does it describe Kylie's fate with the table like that?
    Cheers.

  12. Humph!
I thought that Kooka's home took the prize for the most untidy dining table! Our table is used for everything but dining.

    We use stable tables.
