    1. We both come from a time when photography was expensive so the modern habit of photographing everything is a different way of thinking

  3. Yes, gone are the days when all you got was 24 shots on your film before sending it away for processing and waiting two weeks before you received someone else's photos in the mail.
    So much better now!

    1. Yes it really is better and my photography improved dramatically when i could have instant feedback.

  4. I love the view from the window in the last photo. Is it your place? The neighbourhood looks really nice. As you have probably guessed, me and Amanda take our camera phones everywhere. We do talk to each other as well....I promise.

    1. The last photo is in the tiny portico of our church. It is a beautiful neighbourhood with lots of beautiful old houses, mostly well looked after. We live in a post war suburb about a half hour away.
I took the photo because of the floor tiles, they are the kind of thing that everyone thinks is old and need replacing and one day there will be none left.

I'm pleased you talk to your wife!!!

  5. I have my phone with me all the time but I rarely take pictures. My phone is used just to receive pictures and videos of my granddaughter.

    1. Yes, that is a fine reason to have a good phone. Family relationships from a distance have also been revolutionised by technology.

  6. Love the photos of the peppers and the sunset! I have a small case I carry everywhere which holds my phone on one side and my camera on the other. So I am one of those people who is always snapping away whilst tripping over my own feet :)

    1. Lots of photos mean lots of memory joggers! do you take photos of your food? Apparently we enjoy our food a lot less when we take pictures of it

    2. I have to say that I'm not in the habit of photographing my food but on the occasions that I have it's because I've been impressed with presentation and, so far as I can recall, I've never been disappointed when I've tasted the food.

  9. Beautiful shots, all! Smartphones take very good pictures. I like the tree in the sunset, especially.

    And, of course, Harry :)

  10. I was lucky to catch Harry with his ears up, they don't stay that way for long!

    1. Thanks Nick!
I have realised the photo of the river could have had more sky and less water but that leaves me room to have another go!

  12. I'm glad that you've got back to your camera. As someone who has taken photos since I was 6 the idea of being separated from my camera is totally anathema to me. I do admit that occasionally if I'm just leaving the car and going shopping I rely on my iPhone now.

  13. Great foray into the world of photography. Now get one of your sprogs to show you how to simply edit the pictures - straightening, cropping, changing light and colour etc.. Seems to me that you have an eye for good images Kylie. my favourite was the lacy tree at sunset.

    1. That one is my favourite, too YP.
I did crop the one of the house but I probably need a better understanding of how minor editing can improve a picture

  14. Take pictures everywhere you go Kylie. It’s good practice and you may need it one day.
