A little while back I bought a box of stationery from an Aussie small business called Red Tractor Designs. Look it up!
Anyways, among the cute bookmarks and notepads was a "stubbie holder" which I won't use in a million years so if you'd like a little gift in the mail, something to keep your beer cold and remind you of Australia, hit me up!
The New Zealanders won't be impressed to see pavlova included as an aussie icon. It looks like a heap of fun though, and I hope it finds a new and happy home.
I love the website - they have some great products, so thanks for letting me know about it. And I disagree with Elephant's Child - the pav deserves to be there as it's is quintessentially Australian, despite what the Kiwis and the OED wants everyone to believe. I slot their views under "Fake News" :)
I haven't heard them called stubbies in years, probably because they phased out the short bottles here a long time ago. You brought back memories! Very cute design. I hope you find a taker. Beware of postage though. It's an arm and a leg these days :)

DeleteThe good kiwi stuff, "kind" wasn't meant to be in there 🤦♀️
DeleteSo, what is a stubby?
ReplyDeleteA stubby is a small bottle of beer
DeleteI would like to have that, but it is too expensive to mail to the US.
DeleteLinda, I somehow missed this comment until now, sorry about that
DeleteI thought a stubbie holder was some sort of pen when I read it! Obviously not.

You see, a beer holder is incongruous😂
DeleteThe company does cute stuff!

ReplyDeleteIt's great to welcome you here, Marie! I don't think any other expats read eclectica
DeleteI would not put you to the trouble to send it to me over here!
ReplyDeleteTypical Ramana response :)
DeleteWe haven't had stubbies for many years. I rarely drink beer anymore so your intentions are appreciated,
ReplyDeleteI don't drink beer, either!
DeleteGosh I'd love it, I'm into desk gear in a big way but the postage to me might be too expensive.
ReplyDeleteCute out though :)

ReplyDeleteLast time I sent something to the US there was a $9 tax before even putting the thing on the plane!
DeleteI do not wish to be rude Kylie but I think I will survive without the stubbie holder. However, it was a very nice offer all the same.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why they make the blasted things! Does anybody use them?
