Pictures of Advent

At times, Lucy is disparagingly referred to as The Barkinator.
At 4 this morning she was in her crate and started outdoing her usual noisy self.
When let out she went to the back fence and continued barking at a man who doesn't live in the house behind us. He seemed to be looking through the shed that wasn't his.
Our neighbour tells us nothing is missing.
Bark away, you clever little girl.

  3. PP,
She's a scared little thing (who knows what she saw before she came here) and it means she barks at any little thing and it gets worse when out walking so she needs to be carefully managed but her reactivity did us a favour this time around.

  4. Lucy the Barkinator. A lovely name for a clever and beautiful girl.
I was reminded me of the Sherlock Holmes story, The Dog That Did Not Bark.
One sleeps more easily with a dog in the house.

  6. It's good to see you back, Mr Haggerty 😊
I'm a great sleeper already but the joy of a dog is beyond compare

  8. Your neighbour is lucky to have her as his neigbhour!

  9. Dogs are so good at sniffing out dodgy people. I had an univited visitor once - someone I knew but not well. My kelpie baled him up barking her head off and wouldn't let him anywhere near the house. Good dog!

  10. Michelle,
I bet you were careful of that person!
I had a kelpie who loved everyone but maybe he just never met a baddie. They are whip smart.

  11. Good dog! My old dog had a different timbre to his bark when there was genuine trouble, and he was never wrong - luckily I only heard this bark twice in the 12 years I had him with me.
