As much as I wish it were otherwise, I have always been a social media addict. When I say addict, I can put it down if I'm totally absorbed in something else but the minute my brain is free to wander, I default to facebook or instagram.
Right now, I barely get absorbed in anything else, I am so horrified and fascinated with what is happening in the US, particularly Minnesota.
I want to know what ICE is doing. I want to read intelligent commentary. I want to see all the clever and courageous acts of resistance. I want to know how much longer the chief narcissist can live, I want to know what will happen in a power vacuum.
After seeing huge numbers turn out in sub-freezing conditions to protest, I went to bed on Saturday night hopeful that the regime would soon collapse under the weight of all that opposition.
On Sunday I woke to the news of Alex Pretti's execution and realised I had been a fool. When abusers start to lose control, that's when they get even more violent and reactionary. The more resistance there is, the more sloppy and callous they become.
Every time I hear the words "federal agents" I rail against it. ICE agents are not federal agents, they are gun happy, insecure, entitled four year old incels in big, powerful bodies. And of course they are federal agents working for the regime of an insecure, entitled four year old incel.
Stand strong, Minnesota. Fortune favours the brave.
Hear, hear, Kylie. I don’t think you are a fool to think the regime will fall but it looks like it will take a lot more for that to happen. I don’t do faceache or instagram but I do read several substack contributors for their analyses. I find it hard to read the news some days. Domestically the USA is a diabolical mess and globally we seem to be in danger of a larger conflict. Helen

DeleteWhy haven't guns for unaithorised users been banned yet?? Of course police and army are not banned, so ICE guns will still be authorised. But I imagine 90% of the nation's murders would be eliminated.

Speaking of Renee, Trump used four adverbs - *disorderly, violently, wilfully & viciously*.
He said Renee *viciously ran over* the ICE officer *who seems to have shot her in self defence*.
Americans who abide by the law and who hold to the Constitution will sicken of Trump.
Little wonder that New Yorkers were sick of him many years ago.
Guven Trump's corruption i dont think we can rely on democratic process to remove him but maybe heart failure will do the trick.

I am horrified that these masked unnamed thugs who have no authority, are untrained and lethal (many are the pardoned Jan 6 criminals) and it all has to come to an end. the slaughtering of citizens and kidnapping of children has to stop. I lost faith in many Americans when they did not read Project 2025 before the election. It was all there and now all activated. Kamala kept talking about it.
