Sunset

We buried Miss Missionary today. Miss London seemed sad but ok and was mentioned frequently throughout the service. Our minister got a bit nervous in an unscripted moment and said something about us all joining Miss Missionary in heaven. He graciously laughed as people ribbed him about his eagerness to have us all die!

I was appointed co-ordinator for the afternoon tea and every one of my team were more experienced than I am at organising these kinds of functions. These are church ladies with capital letters and they know stuff but they all deferred to me and worked together to put on one of the most generous afternoon teas I have seen in one place.

On the subject of food, I am not able to start my new job yet because I have to pass a criminal history check and some criminal out there has been using my name. Eventually somebody will figure out that I have never been caught.

After a long day it was nice to be driven home by my daughter, allowing me to snap the brilliant sunset.

    Should I laugh or applaud?

  3. I smiled too but there can be serious amounts of work to unravel things if you do have your identity stolen. I've had mine stolen twice in the days when you had to hand your credit card over to cashiers in filling stations or where they used overhead cameras to see what PIN you tapped in.

I'm glad Miss Missionary had a good send-off. That would have pleased Miss London.

    1. To have your identity stolen once in your life would be enough!

    1. Even as a pedestrian I can't stay to the right! I don't think I could drive on the right without killing someone

  5. I was going to ask if Miss Missionary was buried in the missionary position but such a question would have been quite improper so soon after her last farewell. As for your criminal history, I guess you regret all the bad things you did in your youth though you never expected that they would follow you like a shadow for the rest of your days.

    1. Given that Miss Missionary was a missionary she must have been buried in a missionary position!
I'll be more law abiding in my next life

  6. Love that sky.
And add me to those laughing. My volunteer work is various guises mean that I seem to be often the subject of police checks. So far, so good.

  7. Beautiful sky! I have never been arrested or have a criminal calling herself my name, but evidently someone local is using my exact full name as her stage name. I have been called by friends numerous times to see what days my performances are. Uh, yeah, NEVER!

    1. Hey Anne, what time is your lap dancing routine?

I've realised that the way I wrote that gives the wrong impression. It's not that they are using MY name it's just that their name or alias matches with mine.

      The sky was a treat!

  10. You could borrow my identity and have your earnings sent to my account. It'll be fine!

  11. That's a bummer about someone else using (or just having) your name and causing some unwanted confusion. I hope they manage to sort it out. Glad the afternoon tea was a success despite your inexperienced fumblings!
