I'm tired of my previous post but I don't have a whole lot of ideas for more posts. I've been sitting here for almost an hour, scrolling my recent photos, browsing Facebook, reading your posts .....waiting for inspiration to hit...... or even creep up and whisper sweet nothings in my ear.
Harry, the dog who must be indoors, may have thought he saw something alive and chase-worthy in the back yard recently because he's suddenly turned himself into an outside dog.
I don't know what he thinks he's hunting (cats, lizards, possums and rats are all possible) but he is obsessed. This morning he sat out there until his teeth were chattering which is astounding on two levels: teeth chattering cold after weeks and weeks of heat wave and a greyhound tolerating discomfort.
He's out there now, staring into the dark....
I have a day off tomorrow, I'm not sure what I'll do with it but i'm looking forward to a small sleep in.
On Saturday I should be meeting with a new client, she has booked me for her birth in May. It's been a year since I attended a birth and I am looking forward to another.
I'll leave you with a picture of my flowering gum, as I view it when I get out of the car. The lorikeets come to vandalise it every morning, their chattery noise is a happy sound to wake up to!
Teeth chatterseingly cold? How cold is that in Sydney?
ReplyDeleteFor a dog with no day and very little fur, about 16 degrees
DeleteSometimes the well runs dry for topics. I try and write ideas on a list or I would forget them. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteI have a mental list of topics but sometimes none of them seem good enough to write
DeleteI don't know what to tell you. Just sit there at the keyboard and something will come to you. If you start moving your fingertips, the keyboard will take off on its own. At least it seems that way to me. Perhaps it is because I am a fast typist, I don't know, but if I place my hands on the keyboard the words start to flow from my brain at once.
ReplyDeleteOur dog Abby is in love with the cat next door, a gray tabby. She can hardly do her busines for searching the horizon for her feline friend.
Your flowering sweet gum is lovely and reminds me of our crape myrtles.
See, you churched out another post in nothing flat!
Your unique blogging style is inspiration, my friend. I must try it sometime
DeleteOops, churned.
ReplyDeleteI liked churched. It didn't make sense but that's why I liked it
DeleteI am with you on the monotony front. I think my life is extremely dull and uninspiring and not really blog worthy, yet I continue.
ReplyDeleteDogs are interesting creatures. I imagine Harry has found someone he wants to be "friends" with or guard you from and it is consuming him.
There's a, um, souvenir from a cat just outside the fence so I think we've found his inspiration!
DeleteI think everyone thinks their life is nothing to write about at some point. I like that you continue blogging and I think you give voice to things some of us don't want to say, which is always a good thing
You could write about Harry seven days a week and I would sit here enthralled reading them :) I don't know much about greyhounds, hardly anything to be honest. I didn't know they like their creature comforts so much! I have seen a lady walking one in our town from time to time and he/she always looks so shy of everything and everybody, tail between the legs, sticking close to the woman. I always wondered if it had come from a hard background.
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble writing lately, too. The only reason I get a post out once a week is because of the poetry challenge. My life is quiet and dull, I haven't been walking for ages, and anything that does happen is usually something personal I don't want to post about! That leaves little to draw upon. But I know when other bloggers say - like you - that they have nothing to write about, my inner response is always, write about anything, because I want to hear about it from you. So . . . advice for all of us??
I love the way you love Harry!
DeleteGreys are elegant creatures (except when they're not) best appreciated on a plush lounge or bed. It's also their birth right 😉
Many greys have had a harsh life but I suspect Harry was well treated for a racing dog. He loves people and doesn't show any sign of fear. Many are so abused though that they are special needs animals for their whole life.
Your poetry challenge is always interesting and you think very creatively. And you're right, if one is interested in people then anything they say can be worth reading
Mysterious - I wonder what Harry is hunting, and why. Is he trying to add a bit of variety to his daily diet?
ReplyDeleteIm pretty sure he wants to catch a cat! For a dog bred to chase, it's not surprising. I suspect he would happily eat it afterwards, his humans cruelly give him only two meals a day
DeleteI find it difficult not to be so Zen!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you do!
DeleteMonotonous? No way with a flowering tree and a dog who sees ghosts.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day of freedom.
