I decided to write my own Christmas wish list in the style of the song.
One cozy cottage (with groundsman)
Two coffees with friends
Three houseplants
(my) Four children at my table
Five rescue dogs
Six nights star gazing
Seven days by the sea
Eight interesting movies
Nine linen shirts
Ten good books
Eleven luscious mangoes
Twelve perfumed flowers
All those items on your list should be attainable and some could be combined. However I suggest you don't combine the mangoes and the linen shirts. Mangoes might be luscious but they can be very, very messy.
ReplyDeleteMay your wish list become a reality Kylie.
Alphie
Thanks Alphie!
DeleteI could just about do a wish list on fruit alone......
I am inexplicably drawn to those eleven luscious mangoes. That I ignored ten good books speaks volumes (no pun intended) about me. Who woulda thunk?
ReplyDeleteBut five rescue dogs...yes, yes.
I'm not even joking about five dogs! I must be mad
DeleteI send you best wishes that you get all of them for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks, my friend!
DeleteLOVE your list.
ReplyDeleteMangoes and books are always part of my Christmas. I am fond of linen too.
Here's to achievable dreams.
I haven't read much in a lot of years (20+) but i'm working towards fixing that :)
DeleteA wonderful list. I hope they all come about (if they haven't done already). I think I would add thirteen delicious meals (with another 352 to follow).
ReplyDeletemeals!
Deletenow why didnt i think of that???
What a wonderful list - I could go for most of those myself.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of dogs . . . do you have any more Harry stories? I'm kind of in withdrawal here - lol
After your request, I'm thinking of a Harry post....
DeleteThere is material
Oh, goody! After I wrote that I thought it was rather pushy of me. But I can tell you I'll enjoy whatever you write :)
DeleteSounds like a good list to me. You missed out some snow!!!
ReplyDeleteIt would sound strange to you but I have only seen snow once in my life!
DeleteIt was on Boxing day and we were on a summer holiday but nobody told the weather
I love your wonderful list! Thankfully, I have only seen deep and abiding snow about 10 times in my life. But, the dusting and drifts happens often enough for me to get my fill. Snow is pretty in pictures, but nasty in real life after a few days.
ReplyDeleteIts not a good thing for anyone who is prone to falling!
DeleteI tried to sing it to the tune of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" but "Eight interesting movies" kept breaking my rhythm.
ReplyDeleteJust keep trying!
DeleteWhat a lovely list and in your future I would hope.
ReplyDeleteMy list would be all medical at the moment but I won't bore anyone with it.

I hear ya! I have medical wishes, too but not enough to make a list of twelve :)
DeleteIs that 1 coffee and a refill or a coffee say on Monday and again on Thursday? One coffee seems barely enough to the well caffeinated. BUT spread the coffee time over two days and willing hostess with a fresh pot--that seems a desirable Christmas event.
ReplyDeletehaha yes, I agree two coffees seem less than I might hope for!
DeleteI was thinking that if the song is cumulative, I would like (unspecified number of) coffees with two friends every day ....i'd probably run out of time for books and movies but thats ok
I like your version more than the traditional one. I ave been reading your blog for quite a while now. I live on the other side (ish) of Sydney. So many of your post resonate with me, it's uncanny. I particularly liked the one about coffee !!!!
ReplyDeletethat one was ranty!
DeleteI'm glad to have you here, catherine :)
I think I'd be after a rather quieter Christmas but I do hope you get at least the more important of your wishes.
