107 days of lockdown end today

Somehow, over these last few weeks Monday has become my blogging day. It's because only Keaghan and I are at home and he is working so it's quiet and I'm undistracted.

Restrictions ease in NSW today so it won't take long before our quiet Mondays morph into some other kind of routine but I don't know what  that will be. It's almost 5 months since my surgery and I have finally been able to tell work I am ready to go back. I'm not walking as confidently as I would  like to be for a return to work but I manage and it's time to take a leap with being good enough. I also think I will improve more when I am trying to do more.

As I said, restrictions ease today, hospitality venues, hair dressers and gyms re-open, double vaxxed people can return to offices and we are allowed to have guests in our homes again. I have booked my second vax for this afternoon so I'm getting it just in time to return to a somewhat normal life.

I can't wait to see my work buddies and even if I'm not rostered to work, I'll be dropping in to see them.  Liam is coming to hang out on Thursday, I think he misses living in a bustling home full of siblings to annoy and this long lockdown has curtailed even a casual weekend visit so he's dedicated a full day to catching up.

I'll be having the next stage of root canal on Friday and sometime I'm going to go to a cafe and have the biggest, most indulgent meal I can think of. Right now I'm leaning towards a breakfast but who really cares?

  3. I hope that everything goes well and some sort of normal life can resume.

My daughter has 2 hairdressing salons in Sydney and they started back today after the long lockdown. She says she will get RSI of the wrists as they work overtime to get all of their regular clients cut, coloured, permed etc.

    1. Hi Marie,
I think hairdressers will be super busy for a little while. I could do with a cut myself but I'm prioritising other things :)

  4. 5 months since surgery? Blimey, this year has flown by.
Good luck with the end of your lockdown - I'm still not used to the opening up in the UK - the best thing was getting my hair cut properly.

    1. Ms Scarlet,
Not quite five months but almost. It really is scary how fast it goes.

I finally found a good hairdresser back in April and swore I would become more diligent about my appearance but haven't seen her since!

    1. Hi Anne,
They tell me the restaurants and clubs were heaving on Monday so I guess Sydneysiders aren't being terribly cautious about the opening!

    1. WWW,
One of my favourite cafes does a mushroom toast with hommous and rocket, which is excellent.....but anything could catch my eye on the day :)

    1. Hi Pauline!
I'm having a very nice time! We will have to watch the numbers to see if there is a new wave of infection

  8. It sounds like you have a lot to look forward to in the next few days. I am glad your surgery was successful. The kids like being home again, it appears. Good luck for you with walking. Be careful.

  11. Good that you feel able to return to work now that you're walking fairly well. And good that your covid restrictions have been eased somewhat. Enjoy your super-indulgent meal!

    1. Thank you, Nick. I haven't had the meal yet, I've been out but couldn't get what I wanted on the day. Never mind, it's something to look forward to
