Starvation in Pictures

Stages of starvation:
1. Low range begging
2. Manipulation by cuteness
3. Turning the head away to show respect
4. Must-get-near-food/ The irresistible paw
5. If I turn my whole body away, do I get some?

I'm in a bit of a blog slump, every time I think of a post I might write, I decide I don't like the idea. Never mind, dogs are probably funnier :)

You can see that if Lucy continues to be emaciated like this, she will soon call the RSPCA herself.

  1. Dogs are funny. I love their body language. I have the same problem with blogging ideas. Everything I want to say seems pointless, or insignificant or 'who cares what I think anyway?' Time of life? Time in history? Dunno.

    1. I'm pretty sure that my slumps are just a matter of being more discerning than the rest of the time.
Also, the longer I am unemployed the busier I seem to get (or perhaps just distracted) It doesn't make sense.
For what it's worth, I'm interested in what you have to say, though I wish the issues you talk about were not issues

    2. Thanks Kyie. I often don't blog because I write about 'issues' and I would like to be able to write about happier subjects. But it's hard to find them. Also, I write to think - it helps me get my ideas sorted and as you know, there's a loy to think about at the moment!

  2. Poor, poor Lucy. Mind you, the people who say that they love animals because they are truth tellers have obviously not lived with them. On the subject of sufficient food and/or sufficient attention I have known some fine fibbers (of both the canine and feline persuasion).
On blogging topics? I frequently feel guilty for just how often I revert to same old, same old.

    1. Your same old, same old is always different and delightful.
Our fibbing animals are complimenting us on our ability to understand and our generosity (at least that's what I choose to believe :)

  3. Poor Lucy! I am surprised that you are being so cruel to her. It is clear that she needs sausages if she is going to survive. How would you like to be starved to death Kylie?

    1. Little did she realise that my miso with spinach was probably not to her taste!

  4. Tell you what- you tell me the ideas you reject and I’ll tell you mine. Then each of us could have a go at the post……No maybe not. Silly idea….it doesn’t get cold in Sydney

    1. Oh and like EC I have known some pussy cats who must have learnt how to fib in their mother’s womb!

    2. Given that we are in mid-May and I've barely worn a jumper yet, your idea is on the money 😊
Today's brilliant idea was water bottles....

    3. What would we do without our recalcitrant furry ones? Probably have more money and a lot less joy

  5. I can see bones sticking out. You are just awful to eat in front of her. Take your food and eat somewhere else if you cannot share. It is terrible to see an animal wasting away.

    1. The only bones that stick out are the ones she eats and even those are gone in a flash :)

  6. Both our dogs will outclass Lucy on their looks when they want to blackmail us.

  7. I think many are in a blog slump right now - but cute dogs are always a winner!

  8. She's so cute, hopefully holding out her paw!

Your blog posts are always interesting. Keep that self-doubt in check!

    1. That hopeful paw lands on my arm with a great thump. It's very effective
