i know that a dramatic post about an injured rabbit is probably getting to be old hat. unfortunately i have no inspiration for anything new.
i don't have any big questions to ask
i don't have any silly jokes to make
the emotional rollercoater of saturday has settled but it's an uneasy thing.
zakky still cant stand.
he seems happy but it isnt much of a life
and we have to clean his bum for him
and we have to cut his food into little bits because he lost his front teeth (they'll regrow)
he's enjoying lots of carrots
hence the picture
got anything to say about carrots?

  2. Zakky can have all of my carrots. They are vile weeds.

  3. Apparently judging from the posts so far... carrots are the "Rodney Dangerfield of Veggies" which is unfortunate. Cooked carrots are yummy and good for you.

Now carrot cake is another story...yuk!

  4. Well I just wrote down below before reading this. Hugh sigh. Hummmmmmmmm. I've had to clean a lot of bums because a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do, but I'm sorry you gotta do it and I'm sorry Zakky can't manage on his own yet. What's your heart telling you?

If you cook the carrots a bit and make them mushy, would that help him? The only reason I ask is because he probably has a headache and chewing hurts both his head and his missing teeth, but I also know he has to chew to keep his teeth in check. Just a thought.

I love you darling. Hang in there.

Hugs to you and the kids and a wee one to Zakky. XOXOXOXOXOXO

  7. Carrots? Love 'em!!

"Blogger's Block" from exhaustion? Just sit back peacefully, maybe sip a bit of delicious tea laced with lavender . . . the inspiration will return (and if it doesn't you'll be relaxed and non-plussed about the whole thing).

Prayers for you and all in your household (furry included). : )

  11. suze,
i dont mind cleaning his bum but i think he probably minds waiting for it to be done.
rabbits are so clean, lying in his own mess cant be fun but it is inevitable.
apart from that he is good. at this stage i'm happy to wait and see if time heals.
he's having no trouble eating and he was well enough to nip me for trying to hand feed him. did i mention that he is cantankerous at times? cute & cantankerous!

i wish it never happened but now that it has i'm happy with his progress.....

  15. Sounds like Anzac is with the best family he could be- hope he starts to improve.
Carrots? The most amazingly versatile, sweet, colourful vegetable on the planet. They are my favourite colour- orange! Cut them into little rounds and they keep their shape in a stew, absorbing all those luvverly flavours- not like sweet potato which goes to mush- or grate them into salads, stir fries, coleslaw, cakes, sandwiches (great with houmous)- home-grown organic for the best flavour. One should always have carrots in the fridge!
    Yep- rabbits have good taste!

  16. Hi honey, just checking in. Will try to finish my email today. Cross your fingers, light a candle and pray to the computer Gods!!!

So glad the little fella's doing better. Whisper in his ear, "Honey, it's almost Easter!" That should pull him through.

Carrots. I love carrots just like our friends here (except Bob of course). My favorite way to serve them? In a triple layer carrot cake with cream cheese frosting of course! I'm hungry.

Hope you're having a great day. Love to all and I'll pray for Zakky to always have a clean bum.

    XO ;)

  18. hey suze,
the little guy had a bath today, i'm rather concerned about fly strike and with good reason. even after a ath there were maggots on him only hours later.
he is stronger but still disabled.

hubby keeps saying he may need to be put down and of course that is something to consider but right now it's just distressing. the girls are just beside themselves at the suggestion

    keep praying, will ya?

    love

  19. Well my email says it all and I'll try to send that soon, but you know what I probably think about H. He caused this.

Maggots. Not good. Honey, do me a favor and call the vets. Ask what to do. My experience with my vet has always been good and I never get swayed in the wrong direction. Never. They should tell you the truth and then you have to decide what direction to take. I'm going to email in a few minutes because what I want to say can't be written here. I love you baby. I honestly believe that no matter what happens the kids will find their way. I love you.

    XO
