Back to Bridges

My email was full of spam and having only scanned it quickly over the past few busy days I had missed a reminder about this bridge. It is the Long Gully Bridge at Northbridge, a suburb of Sydney.
Many years ago I worked afternoon shift and my hubby worked days so we didn't see a whole lot of each other.

In my efforts to snatch a little more time together I would go to work with him on Saturday mornings and we would cross this bridge every time. After a hard week of work and part-time study I often fell asleep in the van but I loved this bridge and would try to be awake for the crossing!

I laugh as I think of it now, quality time it was not, with me slumped in my seat and probably drooling :)

  1. Hi Kylie,

This bridge has got some personality. Wish the ones around here were like your bridge. We have too many of those old style steel girder types have nothing unique about them at all.

    Best wishes,

    Skeeter

  2. If I've said it once, I've said it more than once. I too share your love affair with bridges. This one is wonderful. I bet you didn't look very desirable with drool rolling down your cheek though. HA

  3. Talking of bridges (you were!) one of my favourite films is Bridges of Madison County. Ever seen it? Get a big box of tissues ready :)

  4. Hi Kylie,
Love your bridges post. you have more historical bridges there i think than we do.
We have been busy trying to clean up a lot of clutter in our two bedroom house. A small House with only kitchen cupboards and a tiny linen press.
When we bought this house so many years ago, we didn't even notice the lack of cupboard space! So we used the second bedroom to store things in.
This now Helen's room and is filled with Helen's belongings. So all our clutter is spread throughout the rest of the house.
    Mark is not a handyman!

  7. cinnamon,
i loved that movie and then i read some guy saying that the movie was anti-men. he said that the husband was victimised and the woman was glorified for cheating.
he ruined the movie for me

  8. hi jo!
clutter is an ever present problem and the more cupboards you get the more clutter you accumulate!

    soldier on!

  9. I'd rather have the cupboards to shove it all in.
