Love to you & yours

It's Christmas Eve, hot as all get out. We're doing a Christmas tradition, listening to John Williamson sing about a family Christmas day. It describes the the women cooking, the kids disappearing at photo time and the post Christmas camping trip.
This is the illustration that goes with the words "better give that Nick a thump, think I'll have another beer, runt"
I expect there will be scenes like this all over Oz about 3 o'clock tomorrow arvo :)

Right now I wish you cold beers or hot egg nog, a cool change or a picture perfect snowfall, good company and a sense of peace.

lots of love
kylie

  1. Better give that Nick a thump? Not very Christmassy, lol.

Well, it may be minus whatever outside, but inside Nick Towers the central heating's getting us nice and toasty.

A Very Happy Christmas to you Kylie. Relax and enjoy!

  3. At present it's 24C out on our verandah here in Sydney Aus. The people of Port Lincoln South Aust (State) have suffered 40c deg+ and some have lost their home to the flames.4,5 hours away by car in NSW their could be flash floods! on Christmas Day. After carolling with a Salvation Army Band in London 44 years ago, my feet and fingers gradually numbing, I vowed never to complain about sweat, mosquitos,a fly and thirst ever again. Who better to sing of Oz than John Williamson.

  11. Megan,
What an explosive ethnic heritage you have!

You'll be able to argue about anything, anytime, anywhere with all the arrogance and self assured, self belief of those teuronic and Celtic inputs --- without even thinking.

Kylie's Mum is 50% Norwegian though born in New Zealand and her Dad had an Irish surname bur his forbear can ths far be traced to Glasgow. He had plenty other ethnic inputs though.

As for me my forbears arrived in Sydney in 1788! I'm told they were from Lincolnshire. No guessing as to their status!
