The Brat

"Ah wuz just checkin' yor brand new plants for quality, ma, honest!!"

The brat had a vet check last week and if we can be as successful at keeping him quiet for the next two weeks as we were for the last three, we should avoid the very expensive surgery.

I swear I was never so obsessive about my other dogs. Middle aged eccentricity must be biting.....

  2. Oh what a mischief Harry is! And so naughty to chew up your new plants! Good job there are many more plants to buy at the garden centre. Good boy Harry!

    1. He's on the payroll at the garden centre and we feed him in return for comedic value

  4. There must be something about him that especially appeals to you.

Glad to know he's avoiding surgery so far.

  5. Well done! Thank goodness you had options as far as Harry's care - usually it's surgery or nothing! I love plants but every single one that I have had cat bite marks on it. I bought them a small container of fresh grass and they gobbled that up as well!

    1. I tell people they can't have a pretty house with dogs or kids but it seems that cats are a problem, too! Lucky they are cute

  7. Oh dear, Harry . . . lucky your mom (grand-mom?) is wrapped around your little toe :)

I'm so glad to hear that things are progressing well with Harry's leg so far. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

  8. This happens when your own life is so fascinating: I had totally forgotten about Harry. In contrition I am happy to donate a plant. What's your favourite to treasure and his to trash?

Good news about the op - not just the money saved, but Harry being spared the procedure. Hope it means your son can keep the spoils of his efforts to put to the use they were intended for.

    1. All plants are good with me & word has it that greyhounds love trashing succulents. How odd.
I'm very happy that we won't be trying to keep Harry quiet in avoidance of surgery and then in recuperation as well. It is quite nerve wracking. My son has some big plans for his money and if it works out it will be a memory for a lifetime

    2. I might say, I thought the damage to the plant was so funny that I feel there has been value added to it rather than taken :)

I think the word is besotted
