Too many past feasts linger

so I'll have salad

  1. Wise choice.
'A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips' is truer here than I like to contemplate.

  2. *Too many past/ feasts linger*
A call to live in the present?
Not to be weighed down by tradition?

Shrove Tuesday was special. Pancakes, wrapped in a linen towel, were special.
*Cake day* reminds one of Simnel Cake and Easter. In my childhood there were home bakeries everywhere, wonderful small shops.

*So I'll have salad* suggests Lenten fasting.
We are called to pray and offer up sacrifices. The liturgical year was followed by Calvin. Then abandoned by reformed churches apart from the Lutherans in Germany.

Watch *John Piper about John Calvin in Geneva* (YouTube).
Last year the granite statues of Calvin and the Reformers was spray-painted during the gay pride march.

    1. I did think that eating salad on pancake day was very Lenten!
My line about past feasts was written only with my eatuing habits in mind but I always support a call to live in the present

    1. The year is flying!
I decided that putting haikus in too many places would get complicated so I just put them here. It's a bit unweildy but it is also like the encyclopaedia of my life
