Pinky was with us through morning sickness and multiple bouts of gastro, she was Harry's gourmet water bowl and of course she served our family and the one before us since the days of MCM tiles. In those days they weren't called MCM tiles, they were called bog standard.
Unfortunately Pinky became incontinent and was not suitable for surgery so we farewelled her today. Bye bye Pink lady.
Your commode broke?
ReplyDeleteI would not have guessed without the picture. I have heard none of the terms you used.
It didn't exactly break, it had leaks and there are no spares for a toilet like this and you're right, I didn't explain properly because I was just playing around
DeleteNot bad service from equipment that takes a bit of a hammering.
ReplyDeletepretty good, I'd say
DeleteFarewell Pinky. You gave good service.
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd named her Pinky before her last day :)
DeleteI would be heartbroken. Such a pretty girl.

She's in the great sky bathroom where all the gold taps are?
DeleteWe’ve had lavender bathrooms but never a pink toilet. They’ve always been white with ‘coloured’ accessories.
ReplyDeleteSage green and pink so very 19??? - how old are your children?
What have you replaced her with? Beige/Cream/Fawn or Sand or just plain old white
Trying and hoping to comment….wish me luck
Well look at that😊
DeleteTwo neighbouring houses have been renovated recently and I saw their blue and green toilets on the rubbish pile. The whole street was built early 60s and i guess all the toilets have conked out.
DeleteMy kids are 29, 27 & 26, we bought the house when it was 30+ years old.
The new toilet is plain old white so the bathroom is a bit of a mish mash but thats ok.
I'm glad blogger worked for you!
I grew up with a blue one of the same style! I thought my loo was leaking, but then sussed out that it was condensation caused by the shower.
ReplyDeleteSx
Yours was the height of style I reckon!
DeleteMine was definitely leaking from the cistern into the toilet and from the water supply onto the floor. I could have kept it and lived with some inconvenience but I've done enough of that
Wow, that is quite a pink toilet! It sure gave many years of service.
ReplyDeleteLike Ms. Scarlet I grew up with a blue one too.
Robin
Hi Robin,
DeleteDid you have the mosaic tiles too?
I am surprised that you didn't call Miss Pinky, Miss Brownie instead - for obvious reasons... or is that too disgusting? Sorry Kylie.
ReplyDeleteI called her Pinky because she is!
DeleteAvocado toilets were very fashionable in the UK for a while, but now I think plain white is the preferred colour.
ReplyDeleteavocado bathrooms were a big thing in the late 80s and early 90s but toilets specifically have been plain white for probably the last 40 years
DeleteI like this memoir-ish post :D Hope your new loo gives as many years of faithful service as Pinky did!
ReplyDeleteThis one will probably outlive me but I'll probably have to move loooong before that so I'll never know :)
