Glenrothan

Last week's visit to the British Film Festival took me to "Glenrothan".

I thought it was a great film, Briony and I both enjoyed it. The reviews aren't great so I guess that tells you something about my film appreciation!

It was a story about a prodigal son but deeply sensitive to the plight of the older brother who stayed home. I liked the fresh twist on the way the story is usually preached. I also loved the Scottish scenery and the interior views of the family home.

It also had a happy ending which isn't something I insist on but I do appreciate a light hearted Saturday afternoon trip to the flicks.

Months ago my neighbours asked if I was ok with paying for my section of a new fence they wanted to install. I was ok, I said I was ok but I was never given a timeframe for the work or a price and that was back in early August.

Since then I have only been working 2 days a week and eaten into my savings substantially, the choice to get a new mattress in black friday sales was financially savvy but it also guaranteed I'd be making do on cheese toast (metphorically) until my next pay. Of course the minute I was down to my last bit of cash, they show up with the bill for the fence. I'm pretty annoyed. The guy also watched me  leave the house and then presented the bill to Keaghan. I have a good mind to send them the money at a dollar a day.

It's 38 degrees here today and there was smoke in the air last night. Tonight is going to be a hot one and then a cool change coming around 5am so without wishing my life away, bring on 5am :)
