And the (non) Winner of my (non) Contest is.........

Well, look, before I announce winners I have to tell you that I had no intention of blackening your days or your nights or any other thing. I was thinking about head colds and insomnia and I expected you to tell me stories of, say, colicky babies, yowling tom cats or maybe glandular fever. I expected stories like Cecile's one about lying awake with a child on each shoulder.......

so if I stirred memories of existential horror, I'm sorry.

Drum roll please............................

Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The winner of the Encouragement Award is Mark/Kookaburra because if you live in Melbourne and work for the government you must need encouraging :)
A day at a time is a great strategy, Mark. Excellent comment.

The winner of the Make-life -better-by-shopping Award goes to Leah. Another brilliant strategy that I use myself if I can.

Cece gets the Mom's-shoulder-is-better-than-a-pillow Award. YAY for Cece. We've all been there and we know it takes a whole lotta love to give up a night's sleep (well, a couple in this case)

Suzanne gets the Award for being our one and only Blottie. What can I say, Suze? Only you could come here looking for my bizarre brand of wisdom ;)

  1. G'day Kylie,
Thank you for my Encouragement Award. It was a challenging exercise to have written what I wrote and also cathartic. It was good to express my innermost thoghts. I feel that a weight has been lifted. Thank you :)

  2. hi mark,
i'll accept your thanks for the catharsis part but only on the condition that you understand it was a happy accident.
the awards i've offered are a bit lame but hopefully your mouth will twitch up towards a smile, if only at the lameness of it all !

wonderful to see you back in the swing of things

  3. Hi Kylie,
Those are lovely awards that I'm sure every one is pleased to receive.
As for the smile, I've got a smile as big as the one at Lunar Park.
    I'm Kookaburra, remember?

  4. Awesome award. I think I'm designing a little medallion for it. Your (non) contest totally rocked. Wallowing in existential angst is good for the soul, occasionally!

    xoxo

  5. Thank you my darling. And congrats to the group, especially the non-winner, Mark! I agree it was catartic. I still have the problems, but sharing helped. And yes Kylie, I adore your wacky wisdom and will come back for more. Duh! ;)

    Hi Mark!
    Hi Leah!
    Hi IV!
