thanks #28

I love flowers; the colours, the shapes, the infinite combinations of colours and textures that can make up a bouquet.......

........the romance of it all

I want to encourage you to revisit my post "thanks #26" I didn't leave it long enough to do it justice but it's a fine idea from a true ideas man, so do me a favour and join in.

I also remind you that the worlds best blog comp closes in a few hours but I won't be posting the winner until this time tomorrow so as long as you enter before I post the winners you will be in with a chance.

Last of all I'd like you to tell me your favourite flower and ask the ladies this question:

flowers or chocolate?

  1. favorite flower: hmmm...lilies of the valley, for scent and sheer prettiness.

  2. FLOWERS!!!! FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS!

You know me, I love roses, but not roses from a shop, roses from the garden. Why? Because roses from a shop rarely open or smell pretty, but roses from the garden can hardly wait to open and drape themselves all over a vase and perfume a room. I love when the pedals fall around the vase (I just leave them). I'd rather Rob go to the garden and pick one rose for me, than go to the shop and buy dozens. Seriously.

I also love Peonies, Hydrangea, Lilacs, all forms of Narcissus, Anemones, Freesia, etc. Yes, the list is very, very long. We'd be here all day if I posted the full compliment!!!

As you know, Dr. P and asked that I do something special for myself every day. About once a week I go to the thrift store to look for a good book. You know I love books. This week I found a precious little hard cover gem intitled "Growing Myself ~ a spiritual journey through gardening" by Judith Handelsman. Looks brand new, probably never even opened, but I'm going to read it and enjoy every page, probably even write little notes! Judith is the former garden columnist for Vogue and New Age Journal and is a brilliant writer and gardener. When I saw the book I thought, "This is my lucky day." There are two quotes on the dust jacket that make me smile every time I read them: "If you stay open, the plants will teach you," and "The interconnectedness of all life does not have to be an abstract concept. We can live it. It doesn't matter whether we garden indoors or outdoors; we can honor our world. It is all a prayer."

    Beautiful post lady! Love you!

    XO
