Bill Saroyan lived at 74 rue Taitbout in the 9th, I'd walk past his building hoping to see him and never did. Later I heard he went to parties and stood on his own. His son Aram (born 1945) is still alive and writing.
Samuel Beckett, Graham Greene, James Jones and Irwin Shaw lived in Paris in those days. Once I saw AE Hotchner, walking near the Place de la Concorde. Hotchner wrote Papa Hemingway and a book about Doris Day.
I don't know why I was in such a funk last week. I had a friend stay for the weekend which was enjoyable but maybe I just don't deal well with having a change in routine

I hope the coffee helps. And that your weekend is healing.
