Kismet

Last year a client gifted me this water filter, it's rather lovely isn't it? Anyways, we already had a built in filter and this one was taking premium counter space so i tried to sell it. I think I had about four interested parties but none of them ended up buying and knowing it's value I decided to just keep it until an opportunity presented itself.
Then the first born got the fluoride fixation, then I found that it's possible to buy a flouride filter to fit this jar. A single filter will be a lot cheaper than any kind of brand new filtration unit.
That leaves the problem of where to put it but with our imminent feng-shui furniture re-shuffle, I'm thinking we could maybe find room for a nice timber water stand.
I was talking about all this to the first born and his gf and they giggled like I was a mad woman but they can giggle. Call it divine intervention, fate, serendipity, kismet or providence, I think the whole scenario was designed for me.

  1. It is a very elegant thing.
And isn't serendipity a wonderful concept - and word.

  2. Yes, kismet is insisting that you keep it.

The more I look for serendipitous moments, the more I find! It could be bias confirmation but it's always encouraging.

  4. Ramana,
Nice to have you confirm it :)

  5. Serendipity indeed. It's nice when something you thought was useless turns out to be useful after all. I can't say I'm bothered about fluoridised water myself. Me and my teeth are in good health so no problem there. We've never had a water filter and are quite happy with what comes out of the tap!

  6. It's all that good juju you have going on with the decorating! Things are required to work out.

  7. I just popped over from Elephant Child's blog. My mother would love the water filter. I've been clearing out our attic room, and there have been many things that were very easy to throw away, but now I'm left with boxes full of stuff that I just can't decide what to do with them. I have this feeling that some day they will be needed and the moment I chuck them out or sell them, I'll regret it.

  8. LL cool Joe,
    Thanks for dropping by!
I have loads of stuff like that, too. I recently sold some books that I havent looked at for two or three years but the minute I was packing them to post to a new owner I had a pang about needing to read them again

  9. Anne,
If we have any good juju from anything, I'm very happy to grab it with two hands

  10. Nick,
the doco we watched was saying flouride is more toxic than lead and I have to say that most conspiracy theories make some sense to me these days so maybe tap water aint the greatest?

  11. I looked up the symptoms of fluoride poisoning. I don't have any of them.

  12. well respectfully Nick, how would you know if you had mental deficits, for example? who knows what might have been. Chronic poisonin is harder to detect than acute and that's how they get away with pushing industrial waste into our water supply and pretending t's for our benefit

  13. Kylie I just wanted to say, incase you didn't read it on my other blog, that you are welcome to use any of the pins I've made, that's what they are there for, to be used!

  14. Hey, LL Cool Joe
Thank you for that, I did see your reply. There's a lot of distraction around here at the moment and I forgot to say thanks.
I used the meme on facebook where it didnt get anything like the response I expected, probably because i didnt pay facebook to give it exposure!

    Cheers
    k

  15. I think maybe the pin could offend some people? But I'm a Christian and it didn't offend me!
