It did! Our darling pooch will be 17 in April and it's a privilege to be looking after her in her dotage. If I even start feeling a little impatient with her, I remind myself of that - because when she is gone I will be wishing she were still around weeing on her bed occasionally.
Oh yes. It reminds me of one of my mother sayings 'It isn't that we think the people we love are perfect, we just prefer their faults to other people's virtues. Which includes (reluctantly) piddle puddles.
I love it. Perfectly expresses feelings around having and loving an old dog - which we have.
